The music world is preparing to say goodbye to one of its most iconic voices. Diana Ross, the legendary singer and founding member of The Supremes, has officially announced her farewell world tour, titled “The Last Rose.” The 2026 global tour will mark the final time the music icon graces stages around the world after a career that has spanned more than six decades.
At 81 years old, Ross shows no signs of slowing down creatively or spiritually. In her heartfelt announcement posted to social media, she wrote: “I’ve sung for kings and presidents, danced on glittering stages, and shared my heart with millions. Now, I want to say goodbye — not with a whisper, but with a celebration of love, light, and music. This is The Last Rose.”
The tour will kick off in April 2026 in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan, with a grand performance at the Fox Theatre, and will include stops in London, Paris, Lagos, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Sydney, and more. The final leg will conclude in New York City at Madison Square Garden in December 2026, marking the final chapter of one of the most extraordinary performance legacies in modern music.
Ross’s setlist for The Last Rose will feature her biggest hits, both solo and with The Supremes — including classics like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Upside Down,” “Endless Love,” “Love Hangover,” and “I’m Coming Out.” She will also introduce two new songs, her first new recordings in over a decade, said to reflect on legacy, womanhood, and gratitude.
The tour will feature an all-female orchestra, designed gowns by top fashion houses like Valentino and Balmain, and stage direction by Grammy-winning producer David Foster. Ross is said to be personally overseeing every aspect of the production, promising an elegant, nostalgic, and unforgettable farewell for fans of all generations.
“To witness Diana Ross live is to witness grace, style, and excellence,” said Foster. “The Last Rose isn’t a goodbye — it’s a final bow from a woman who changed the sound and spirit of popular music forever.”
VIP tickets for the farewell tour will include access to a traveling museum-style exhibit titled “The Legacy Lounge,” showcasing Ross’s iconic dresses, awards, handwritten lyrics, and behind-the-scenes footage from her Supremes and solo eras. Fans will be invited to leave messages, flowers, or “digital roses” to commemorate their memories with the star.
In the weeks following the announcement, social media has erupted in tribute. Beyoncé posted, “You paved the way for us. There is no stage I step on without your spirit beside me.” Michelle Obama shared a photo of Ross performing at the White House with the caption, “A queen, a legend, a voice that carried generations. Thank you.”
The tour also coincides with a forthcoming documentary titled “Diana: The Last Rose Bloomed” — a full-length feature following the farewell journey, filled with behind-the-scenes footage, emotional interviews, and reflections on a career that shaped soul, R&B, disco, and pop culture itself.
Ross will reportedly not be retiring completely from public life. She plans to focus on philanthropy, particularly expanding her Ross Foundation for Girls in the Arts, which funds music and performing arts programs for underserved youth globally. “My legacy isn’t just in the music,” she said, “but in the lives I can still help blossom.”
Tickets for The Last Rose will go on sale starting September 1, 2025, with special pre-sale access for long-time fan club members. Early demand is already overwhelming, with venues adding second nights in several cities to accommodate her global fan base.
As Diana Ross prepares to take her final bow, The Last Rose promises to be more than just a concert tour — it is the crowning of a queen, the celebration of a pioneer, and a farewell from one of the most beloved voices the world has ever known.
